Eggcellent: Another Broken Egg expands to Clearwater, other Bay area cities
The Southern-influenced Another Broken Egg Cafe franchise, which has 12 sites throughout the state as well as in locales like Indiana and the Carolinas, will start serving breakfast, lunch and brunch offerings to Clearwater at the end of February.
Owned by Double R Restaurant Group president Stuart Ottinger, the cafe at 2554 McMullen Booth Road will showcase a large breakfast bar, collapsed windows and brick walls, according to a press release.
Though Naples and Delray Beach are set to get locations next, Brandon and Tampa are included in the lineup, too, as Another Broken Egg, established in Destin around 19 years ago, adds 36 Florida sites (from Tampa to Naples) to its portfolio.
The something-for-everyone chain plans to launch 100 restaurants by 2018.
"Another Broken Egg Cafe and South Florida are a perfect fit, and we see a huge opportunity for growth," Ottinger said in the release.
The Clearwater restaurant's menu, with 130 dishes inspired by the franchise's Louisiana ties (Double R's based in Lafayette), will highlight items such as blackberry grits, baked brie, a jumbo sweet potato pancake and scrambled eggs-filled skillets.
Another Broken Egg's full bar will offer up Bloody Marys, mimosas, bellinis, local brews and more.
After an opening date's announced, Double R will partner with local nonprofits to host grand opening celebrations where diners may eat for free. The events' donations will benefit the featured organizations.
